Published on September 10, 2019, a report by the UK Mirror, citing CIES Football Observatory, revealed that Manchester City has spent a staggering £906m to sign new players, making them the most expensive club in the world of soccer.

The list, which was compiled after analyzing the four biggest clubs in European Football and conducting research on Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Serie A in Italy, German Bundesliga, and the French League 1, placed Manchester City at the top with a massive £909m expenditure.

Paris-Saint-Germain and Real Madrid followed closely behind, with £819m and £809m spent respectively. The top 10 most expensive clubs in the world include five Premier League teams, highlighting the significant financial resources available to English topflight clubs.

Manchester City's massive spending spree included signing high-profile players such as Kelvin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, and Riyad Mahrez.

Interestingly, Manchester City earned £38.4m for winning the Premier League title in the 2018/19 season, a title they retained on May 12, 2019, after beating Brighton 4-1 in their last game.
