The Digital Media Awards have extended their submission deadline to Monday, October 5, 2026, following requests from industry stakeholders to finalize entries, according to a statement from the organizing committee. The extension aims to allow creatives, agencies, and brands to showcase their best work from the past year, with Brian Njagi, chairman of the Digital Media Awards Committee, noting that the current entry count stands at 186. 'We have seen an exceptional calibre of entries so far, reflecting the rapid evolution and creative depth of our digital ecosystem,' Njagi said in a statement shared with KBC Digital. The awards recognize excellence in digital marketing, content creation, social media, publishing, and technology across regional categories.

The original deadline was moved to accommodate 'numerous requests from creative agencies, brands, publishers, and digital content creators across the region,' as stated in the committee’s release. Submissions must now be completed online via the official DMA website, with eligibility restricted to campaigns, digital assets, and projects produced within the awards period. The event’s jury, composed of regional industry experts and thought leaders, will evaluate entries before announcing results at the ceremony on December 11. Categories include Film & Film Crafts, Print & Print Crafts, Media & PR, Digital & Digital Crafts, Live Events & Sponsorships, Design & Design Crafts, and Radio & Audio Crafts.

The extension underscores the growing significance of the Digital Media Awards in celebrating innovation within Kenya’s evolving digital landscape. With over 180 entries already received, the committee emphasized the importance of providing adequate time for participants to refine their submissions. Njagi highlighted that the awards serve as a platform to 'recognize the regional recognition they deserve,' reflecting the sector’s increasing competitiveness and creative output. The event remains a key milestone for professionals seeking to highlight their achievements in a rapidly expanding digital economy.

The Digital Media Awards, now with a revised deadline of October 5, 2026, continue to attract attention as a benchmark for excellence in the region’s digital media sector. The ceremony on December 11 will feature awards across multiple disciplines, with organizers stressing the importance of inclusivity and quality in the judging process. Stakeholders across the industry have welcomed the extension, viewing it as a critical step in ensuring the awards maintain their reputation for recognizing impactful and innovative digital work.
