Kanani stated, "VON was born in Kenya. Our ambition is for it to be built in Kenya and loved across Africa," highlighting the significance of localized manufacturing. This move aligns with Hotpoint’s goal to deepen its footprint in African markets through tailored technology and production.

Hotpoint also introduced a new generation of VON appliances featuring AI-driven innovations, including smart laundry systems, Wi-Fi and voice-controlled cooling, multi-function cooking, and flexible refrigeration. The products, launched ahead of the planned 2026 opening of the brand’s first VON store, include AI-assisted laundry, inverter air conditioners, and a 5-in-1 microwave. Kanani noted, "Every product in the New Wave was chosen to solve a real, everyday need," citing features like SmartWash load detection and extended 24-month warranties as key differentiators.

The initiative underscores Hotpoint’s commitment to addressing African consumer needs through localized technology and manufacturing. By integrating AI into everyday appliances, the company aims to enhance usability and efficiency for Kenyan households.
