On September 10, 2019, ODM leader Raila Odinga and other officials attended a ceremony where Imran Okoth was handed the party's nominations certificate after winning the ODM primaries with 4,382 votes.
Imran Okoth's landslide win against other hopefuls on Saturday, 7th, marked a significant moment for the Orange party in Kibra.
Junet Mohammed, the head of the party's Kibra campaigns and Suna East MP, warned Jubilee and ANC of an impending political annihilation in Kibra, which will be led by the ODM party.
“Kile chama ambacho kimefanya nominations nchini katika uchaguzi huu wa Kibra ni ODM; wale wengine hawakufanya nominations…walifanya selection! Nawaambia Jubilee, ANC, Tangatanga na hao wengine wajitayarishe kwani Kibra ni ODM,” Junet said.
Imran Okoth, the ODM party candidate, is ready for the Kibra by-elections that will be held on November 7th, according to Junet Mohammed.
His closest competitor, Peter Orero, vowed to support and campaign for him and assured the party of support.
“We have come today as party members to support one of us who was elected and nominated… and that is Imran… we shall give him support… we are here and we will give full support to him and ensure that the elections are won by Imran,” he said.
