Published on September 9, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's daughter Saumu Mbuvi is currently on vacation in Zanzibar.

According to her Instagram posts, Saumu is holidaying at the luxurious Melia Hotel in Zanzibar, where she has been 'baecationing' with Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip.

Loitiptip, 33, a first-term legislator, was with Saumu two weeks ago when they were attacked outside Memphis Lounge in Nairobi.

Police are holding a doorman in connection with the assault and are looking for eight other suspects.

Loitiptip sustained deep cuts in the head and was taken to Aga Khan Hospital, where he has since recuperated.

Saumu told police that she had been with Loitiptip at the club on the night of the attack, watching the UEFA Champions League finals, and had excused herself to visit the washrooms when trouble began.

She claimed that at the washrooms, she was confronted by a man who tore her blouse in the ensuing scuffle.

The two are allegedly dating, just a few weeks after Saumu parted ways with her boyfriend and business partner.

Saumu wished Loitiptip a quick recovery, saying, 'Hi Future, Thank you for putting your life before mine, For standing by me, Advising me and always being there for me …you will forever be my Best friend. Wishing you quick recovery hun,'

The new relationship is interesting given that Loitiptip is married to a police officer, Sophie Mohamed, with whom he has a daughter.
