On September 9, 2019, a tense confrontation unfolded at Gitui Catholic Church in Kiharu constituency, pitting Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro against Nominated MP Maina Kamanda.
The incident occurred during a church fundraiser, where Ndindi arrived to find Kamanda and other Kieleweke-affiliated politicians already present.
According to reports, Ndindi demanded to lead the program, citing his position as the area legislator. However, his demands were met with resistance, leading to a heated exchange between the two politicians.
Police have since arrested Ndindi and are holding him at the CID offices in Murang'a town. He is expected to be charged with assault and resisting arrest.
