On September 8, 2019, chaos erupted at Gutiu Catholic Church in Murang'a County, following a fundraising event that was disrupted by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and his followers.
According to a statement by Murang'a County Police Commander Josphat Kinyua, the incident will be investigated, and those responsible will be held accountable.
MP Nyoro, who has been on the run since the incident, claims he cannot be forced to follow the ODM leader Raila Odinga or push his agenda in his constituency.
However, in a stern warning, Murang'a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Julius Rutere has given MP Nyoro an ultimatum to surrender himself to the police, stating that failure to do so will result in his arrest.
DCI boss Rutere emphasized that they will not rest until they apprehend MP Nyoro, and that they will take the matter seriously if he fails to surrender.
