Football legend Joe Kadenge's requiem mass in Vihiga County was marred by a mystery that has now been solved. The mass, which took place at Gisambai Secondary School, saw 25 offering baskets given out to church members, but only 20 were returned.
According to local residents, the pastor who presided over the mass had given out the baskets to help reach out to the large crowd that had gathered to bid farewell to the legend. However, when the pastor called out for those who had taken the baskets to return them, no one came forward.
"We gave out 25 baskets and I cannot see the remaining five. Those who were given are kindly requested to come out and bring them to the altar or else...," the pastor called out, warning of curses for those who refused to return the baskets.
Despite the pastor's pleas, the empty baskets remained unreturned, and the mass continued without them. However, hours later, local herdsmen found the empty baskets in a thicket, leaving the mystery of who took them unsolved.
