Firebrand politician Babu Owino has reignited his 'dirty' politicking ways ahead of the Kibra parliamentary by-elections, with a warning shot sent to Jubilee's candidate McDonald Mariga on Sunday.
Published on September 9, 2019, Babu Owino's message has ruffled feathers on social media with the choice of words used in his message.
On social media, Babu congratulated ODM flagbearer Imran Okoth, brother to the late Ken Okoth, and announced that he would be taking charge of the polls to ensure the ODM candidate clinched the seat.
“Congratulations to Bernard Okoth Imran for winning the Kibra nominations. I want to inform the public that I will be in-charge of Kibra by-election and I will ensure that ODM candidate wins,” said Babu.
The former SONU leader went on to use distasteful analogies in a bid to intimidate Mariga, telling the former Harambee Stars midfielder to stick to football because he would humiliate him and his political mentor, perceived to be Deputy President William Ruto.
“Mariga hauna bahati when I’m in charge better step aside because the political wheel will molest you. Babu Owino the political beast will crash you in the by-elections. You will lose and be humiliated with your political mentor. We love you as Kenyans Mariga but football loves you more, better stick to it. Umeingiza kichwa kwa matako ya ndovu ukifikiria ina asali,” wrote Babu.
The Kibra by-election is set for November 7, 2019.
