From Boutique to CEO: Bill Mboya's Entrepreneurial Journey ¶
Bill Mboya, the founder and CEO of Jebilton Ventures, a management consultancy firm, has an inspiring entrepreneurial story. In this interview, he shares his journey, from starting a boutique to building a successful company.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, Mboya started Billian Boutique in Umoja estate, which he later closed to focus on building his company. He had a good experience running the boutique, earning profits of about Sh30,000 every month, but decided to shut it down to concentrate on his vision.
When starting Jebilton Ventures, Mboya needed Sh500,000 in startup capital, but he could not raise the amount. He then reduced the capital to Sh70,000, which a relative helped him raise through a loan. Despite the initial challenges, Mboya's company has enjoyed steady growth, and he attributes his success to his problem-solving skills, research, and willingness to take risks.
As a visionary leader, Mboya sets smart goals and gets the job done. He believes in following one's passion, rather than just focusing on money. He also emphasizes the importance of patience, hard work, and putting God first in everything one does.
With his experience and wisdom, Mboya offers valuable advice to young entrepreneurs, urging them to invest in research, be risk-takers, and avoid procrastination. He believes that with the right mindset and skills, anyone can build a successful business.
