Published on September 9, 2019, Khalida Jumaan's story of living with migraines and headaches is a testament to the importance of seeking proper medical attention.

For six years, Khalida suffered from excruciating pain in her head and neck, which worsened with stress, noise, and excitement. Despite taking strong painkillers, the pain persisted, and she was often left feeling exhausted and nauseous.

Her journey to diagnosis was long and arduous, with one hospital referring her to an eye specialist and another suggesting an MRI. It wasn't until March of the same year that a neurologist at Coast Neurology Centre ran tests on her blood sample and confirmed that she was suffering from migraines.

According to the medic, Khalida had harbored the condition for a long time, which had destroyed a nerve at the back of her head. The doctor gave her a jab on the affected area and prescribed medication to manage her symptoms.

With the help of medication and alternative therapies like yoga, Khalida has been able to manage her symptoms and improve her quality of life. Her advice to others who may be suffering from similar conditions is to consult a specialist and avoid self-medication.
