The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has launched the online application portal for 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates seeking university placements or course revisions.
Candidates must submit applications or modify course choices by June 2, 2022, through the KUCCPS student portal. The system will allocate placements based on regional balance, academic performance, and institutional capacity.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha directed KUCCPS to open the portal, emphasizing that 144,466 students with a mean grade of C+ or higher are eligible for degree programs at 70 universities. Those with C grades or lower were encouraged to consider technical and vocational education options.
Application steps include logging into the student portal using KCSE index numbers and passwords, selecting four priority courses and institutions, and submitting the form. The portal, accessible at students.kuccps.net, allows submissions from any internet-connected device.
On November 17, 2020, KUCCPS Board Chairman Joe Ager presented appointment letters to Acting CEO Agnes Wahome.
