Published on September 8, 2019, Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, has expressed his confidence in his former team's ability to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Wenger, who has been following the Premier League closely, pointed out that Arsenal are the only other team that can mount a serious challenge for the domestic title, alongside the current favorites, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Manchester City, the defending champions, are currently second in the standings with 10 points, while Liverpool sit atop the log with 12 points after winning all four matches of the new season.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are fifth in the standings with seven points from four matches, including a hard-fought 1-0 win over Newcastle in their season opener.

Wenger believes that Arsenal have everything it takes to mount a serious challenge for the title, citing their potential and the fact that they are the only other team that can challenge Manchester City and Liverpool.

“Maybe the team who has the potential is Arsenal who could be the closest to challenge Man City and Liverpool,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

Wenger also pointed out that Chelsea's young squad could hinder their chances of competing effectively, adding that Manchester United are yet to discover a rhythm under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
