Published on September 7, 2019, a new episode of 'The Weekly' reveals Russia's playbook for disrupting democracy.

President Vladimir Putin's government had a history of interfering in the democratic process, dating back to 2007 when it provoked political violence and mounted malicious cyberattacks in Estonia.

Many of the methods Moscow used in Estonia are eerily similar to those used to hack American politics, an effort that intelligence officials and security experts warn is still underway.

Our correspondent Matt Apuzzo traveled to Estonia to piece together clues hiding in plain sight and examine how vulnerable American democracy is to Russian hackers well-practiced in spreading disinformation, exploiting political differences, and sowing chaos and mistrust.
