President Kenyatta Reshuffles Government Secretaries

On September 6, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a major reshuffle of the government's principal secretaries, a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery.

According to the president, the changes were made to ensure that the government operates effectively and efficiently.

Dr. Francis Owino has been transferred from the State Department for Public Service to the State Department for Industrialization.

Maj. Gen (Rtd) Gordon Kihalangwa has been moved from the State Department for Defence to the State Department for Public Works.

Betty Maina has been reassigned from the State Department for Industrialization to the State Department for Environment and Forestry.

Julius Korir has been transferred from the State Department for Infrastructure to the State Department for Public Service.

Dr. Fred K. Segor has been moved from the State Department for Irrigation to the State Department for Wildlife Services.

Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed has been transferred from the State Department for Environment and Forestry to the State Department for Defence.

Professor Paul Maringa has been reassigned from the State Department for Public Works to the State Department for Infrastructure.

The president has also combined the State Department of Crop Development with the State Department for Agricultural Research to create the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.

Professor Hamadi Boga has been transferred from the State Department of Agricultural Research to the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.
