On Saturday, September 7, 2019, the Ruiru Sports Club will host the KCB Bank Corporate Golf tournament, which is expected to be a highlight of the weekend's sporting activities.

More than 200 golfers have signed up for the event, where some of Kenya's top amateur golfers will compete for top prizes at the 18-hole course.

The tournament is part of KCB's 2019 golf series, which has been ongoing since the beginning of the year across various clubs in the country.

As part of its golf series, KCB Bank Kenya has invested over Kshs. 80 million in supporting golf tournaments, with the biggest being the 2019 KCB Karen Masters, a Sunshine Tour-sanctioned event held on June 26-30, 2019, at the Karen Country Club.

According to Angela Mwirigi, KCB Marketing and Communications Director, the bank is keen on boosting its investments in golf, which aligns with its agenda to grow sports in East Africa as one of the biggest sponsors across disciplines.

"For us, golf is an avenue of networking with our current and potential customers," Mwirigi said.

Ruiru Sports Club Captain Peter Mwaura expressed his delight at hosting KCB for the third year running, stating that there is significant interest from golfers from across clubs.

Recent winners such as Waibochi Paul, Gichuru Simon, and Munyua Kimani are among the top golfers expected to defend their wins, while the ladies field features Edith Ngugi, Shobna Patel, and Margaret Kamau, who have been in good form recently.
