Dennis Itumbi, a blogger and self-declared State House Digital Director, has been sued by a woman he fathered a child with. The woman, who is an orphan, claims that Itumbi deserted her and their child from birth and has refused to provide any form of maintenance.
According to court papers, Itumbi and the woman dated for almost a year before the relationship ended in August 2018. The woman informed Itumbi that she was pregnant with his child, but he ended the relationship and refused to attend mediation meetings to discuss the welfare of their child.
The woman, who successfully delivered a female child on June 14, 2019, is seeking Sh50,000 monthly subsistence allowance for the minor to cater for food, clothing, medicine, and house help salary. She is also seeking a copy of Itumbi's national Identity Card to include his name in the minor's certificate of birth.
Itumbi is also accused of exhibiting cruelty by trying to convince the woman to abort the pregnancy when he discovered that she was pregnant. The case will be heard on September 26.
