On September 5, 2019, Minaj took to her official Twitter account to express her love for her fans and her gratitude for their support. However, she dropped a bombshell by announcing her retirement from music to start a family.
Although Minaj did not mention her partner, Kenneth Petty, in her tweet, sources close to her revealed that she has been close to him and probably intends to spend her happily ever after with him.
Minaj's announcement came as a surprise to her fans and even her haters, as she had never hinted at retiring from the music scene. Despite being very active in the music industry, Minaj has never shown signs of quitting the game.
However, if she indeed retires, she would have accomplished a lot, having won accolades and recorded massive success. Following her announcement, Twitter went crazy with millions of her fans wondering why she decided to 'ditch' them this soon.
Others, however, were happy for her and went ahead to congratulate her for the move and wished her all the best and happiness in her next chapter; family.
"I have decided to retire and have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep representing me, do it til the death of me, in the box. Because nobody is checking me. Love you for life," Minaj wrote in her tweet.
