A video surfaced depicting former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale in a physical confrontation with an unidentified supporter in Kakamega town. The incident occurred on May 30, 2022, just hours after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) approved his candidacy for the Senate seat.

The footage captures Khalwale, known for his combative political style, exchanging heated words with the individual before escalating to physical contact. The supporter was reportedly seen approaching Khalwale's vehicle before the senator's car departed the scene.

This incident follows a pattern of confrontational behavior by Khalwale. In 2019, he gained national attention after a viral video showed him engaging in a street fight with residents in Kibra. That altercation occurred during a by-election campaign in which he supported McDonald Mariga.

Earlier on May 30, Khalwale was seen accompanied by a group of boda boda riders wearing green reflective jackets, a gesture interpreted as an attempt to expedite his electoral clearance. Despite efforts to contact him for comment, no response was received from his office.
