Kenyan international midfielder Ayub Timbe Masika claimed his third Thai League Cup title with Buriram United after the club defeated Prachuap 4-0 in the 2022 final held in Thanyaburi on Saturday.
Masika entered the match in the 78th minute, with Buriram confirming all squad members participated in the competition. The team dominated proceedings through goals from Democratic Republic of Congo's Jonathan Bolingi in the 35th and 61st minutes, Peeradon Chamratsamee in the 90th minute, and Suphanat Mueanta who replaced Masika at the start of the match.
Prachuap reduced their deficit when Saharat Pongsuwan was sent off in the 69th minute, but Buriram maintained control to secure the victory. This marks Masika's first League Cup triumph since 2018, when Buriram defeated Nongbua Pitchaya 3-0 in the Thai League final.
The midfielder, who has played in Belgium, China, England, and Japan, previously won the FA Cup with Buriram in the 2022 final against Nakhon Ratchasima, securing a 1-0 victory at Thammasat Stadium in Khlong Luang on May 22.
