Published on September 5, 2019, a DNA test has resolved a long-standing dispute over the paternity of Nairobi nominated MCA Anne Muthoni's son.

The test, which was conducted after the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's remains were cremated, revealed a 99.9% DNA match between Okoth and the boy.

Okoth and Muthoni had a romantic relationship before he was elected as Kibra MP in 2013, and in 2015, they welcomed a son named Jayden Baraka Okoth.

However, Okoth's family had cremated his remains without Muthoni's consent, allegedly to destroy any evidence of the boy's lineage to the deceased.

Muthoni had accused Okoth's family of excluding her from the funeral and burial arrangements, which led to a court case.

Okoth, 41, had succumbed to colorectal cancer on July 26th while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
