On September 5, 2019, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho spoke at the Mombasa International Show, where he addressed allegations made by Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali.

According to Joho, the MP had been criticizing his every move, claiming that Joho was manipulating the Coast people to get profitable deals from the government.

Joho fired back at the MP, saying that he should look at himself and stop spreading propaganda about him and his family.

The Governor also emphasized the importance of Coast leaders supporting one another, stating that when one leader succeeds, others will benefit as well.

He warned the MP to stop his habit of feeling jealous when others benefit and grow, as it was derailing them as leaders.

The two families, Joho's and Ali's, have had issues since the former journalist joined politics.

As a solution, Joho suggested that it would be wise to approach the leader who has gone wrong, explain the problem, and solve it in an amicable way.
