Hull City Defender Battles Early Stages of Bowel Cancer ¶
Angus MacDonald, a 26-year-old defender for Hull City, has revealed he is battling early stages of bowel cancer. The news comes just months after he returned to the pitch following a serious injury.
MacDonald joined Hull City in January 2018, after signing a contract with the club from Barnsley in Yorkshire. However, his time at the club has been marked by injury, with the defender missing several matches due to a blood clot in his leg.
"After a year out injured and then returning to training, I was getting back to full fitness and then these news came as a shock and it's very difficult to accept," MacDonald wrote on his Instagram page.
"I will be ready to face it and do everything I can to get back to my normal health and return to the pitch," he added.
MacDonald's revelation has come as a shock to his fans and teammates, with the club releasing a statement expressing their support for the defender.
"The entire Tigers family is joining Angus in his fight against bowel cancer and we will stand by him until he is back to full health," the statement read.
MacDonald's diagnosis is a reminder of the importance of health and wellness, particularly for athletes who are under constant pressure to perform.
As MacDonald continues his battle against bowel cancer, he has the support of his fans and teammates behind him.
"We will be with him every step of the way," the club said.
