On September 3, 2019, two foreign nationals, Ogundeji Olayinka and Tazisong Fabian, were found in possession of forged Kenyan currency in Kakumini village, Yatta sub-county.

According to the charge sheet, the suspects were in possession of forged bank notes totalling Ksh. 9,000.

The notes included denominations of Ksh. 1,000 with serial numbers AA0209039, AA0209229, AA0209033, and AA0229042.

Being in possession of forged bank currency notes contravenes Section 359 of the Penal Code, which attracts a jail term of seven years.

On September 5, 2019, the two suspects were arraigned in court and directed to remain in custody at the Matuu Police Station for four days to allow police to complete investigations.
