Published on September 4, 2019, a bizarre case in Perth, Australia, made headlines when a vegan woman sued her neighbors for grilling fish in their backyard.

Cilla Carden, a committed vegan, claimed that the smell of fish wafting from her neighbors' grill was unbearable and disrupted her quality of life.

"They've put it there so I smell fish, all I can smell is fish. I can't enjoy my backyard, I can't go out there," Carden told 9News.

However, Carden's neighbors pushed back, removing their grill and asking their children to stop playing basketball in the backyard.

Despite this, Carden refused to back down, claiming that her neighbors' actions were deliberate.

Unfortunately for Carden, the courts did not agree with her. Both a Supreme Court judge and the State Administrative Tribunal sided with her neighbors, dismissing her case.

Carden attempted to appeal the decisions but was refused. Despite this, she plans to fight her neighbors in court again soon.
