Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has been left reeling after being shockingly excluded from Juventus' Champions League squad, sparking a furious reaction from the German international.
Can, who joined Juventus in June 2018 after four years at Liverpool, expressed his shock and anger in a statement, saying: "I'm furious, I don't understand, I'm totally shocked because I was promised something else these past few weeks."
He claimed that a brief phone call with coach Maurizio Sarri offered no explanation for his exclusion, stating: "The phone call (with Sarri) lasted less than a minute and there was no explanation."
Can, who missed the cut for the 2018 World Cup, is currently preparing with the Germany squad for Euro 2020 qualifiers and could line up against the Netherlands on Friday.
