On Wednesday morning, a bus traveling from Mombasa to Homa Bay town made a tragic stop after a passenger died along the way.
The deceased, 23-year-old Elisha Anyonyi, had been traveling with his wife and two children for over 10 hours when he met his untimely death.
According to Homa Bay Sub County Police Commander Sammy Koskei, Anyonyi was asthmatic and had forgotten to carry his medication with him.
As the bus traveled through Narok, one of the passengers, Erick Gwoma, noticed that Anyonyi was complaining of chest problems and alerted his wife, who was also on the bus.
When they reached Narok, Gwoma realized that the child Anyonyi was carrying was lying on the floor, and the deceased had his head slumped on the front seat, prompting him to sense danger.
The body was taken to Homa Bay County Hospital Morgue for a postmortem.
Police boss Koskei urged passengers to be cautious while traveling long distances and to carry essential medication with them to avoid such tragedies.
