Published on September 4, 2019, a group of Jubilee politicians in Kilifi are raising eyebrows over the close relationship between Deputy President William Ruto and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.
According to sources, some legislators from the region who had initially dumped the Raila Odinga-led ODM have threatened to return to the party, citing Jumwa's alleged 'ring-fencing' of the DP.
One of the affected lawmakers revealed that they can no longer reach the DP directly, with Ruto referring them back to Jumwa whenever they try to call him.
The politicians are now planning to reaffirm their support for ODM, with a view to launching a scathing campaign against Jumwa and Ruto ahead of the 2022 elections.
Elsewhere, a former MP from Rift Valley has reportedly turned himself into a driver-cum-bodyguard of a former governor, highlighting the allure of cash in Kenya's politics.
