George Mulei, the talented actor from the popular drama series Tahidi High, is going through a difficult time as both his parents are ailing and in need of urgent treatment.
According to a post shared on his Facebook page, Mulei's father, Jimmy Mulei, was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. The family was able to raise some funds for his treatment in India, but unfortunately, on his way back home, his father lost his father and mother-in-law.
"Early 2018, dad got diagnosed with cancer and it was quite a journey. We managed to raise some funds to send him to India, unfortunately on his way back he lost his father and mother-in-law in the same week," Mulei said in a Facebook post.
Following the passing of his father's relatives, Mulei's father and mother fell ill due to the emotional toll of the event. Mulei's mother developed chest problems, which doctors later concluded were due to blocked blood vessels, requiring urgent surgery.
Through friends, family, and well-wishers, the family has been able to raise funds to take Mulei's father back to India for treatment and his mother for surgery. However, their pockets are now running dry, and they are appealing for more assistance to continue with his father's chemotherapy and his mother's surgery.
"The challenge we are having right now is raising funds to take care of both of them because my dad needs consistent chemotherapy and treatment and my mom needs her surgery and their upkeep while in India," Mulei said.
