Embu Level Five Hospital has been embroiled in a scandal after two ICU units were found locked and empty, following the theft of equipment worth millions of shillings.

According to activist Wawira Njue, hospital officials have been covering up the truth about the incident, which occurred two weeks ago.

On September 3, Njue revealed that hospital officials had been hiding the truth about the theft, which involved equipment worth millions of shillings.

Sammy Muturi, the chairman of the hospital's board of management in Embu County Assembly, confirmed that the machines were stolen a few weeks ago and that several people have been arrested in connection with the theft.

Embu County Assembly member Muturi Mwombo supported Muturi's statement, warning that anyone found guilty will be prosecuted.

Those responsible for the theft have been accused of causing distress to the residents of Embu who rely on the hospital's ICU services.

However, the two officials have denied any wrongdoing, citing ongoing investigations into the matter.
