September 4, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's eldest daughter Saumu Mbuvi made headlines with her advice to single moms: find a father figure for their children.
According to Saumu, a father is crucial in a child's life, and she should know. She has been through a tumultuous breakup with her baby daddy, Ben Gatu, who left her to raise their 3-year-old daughter alone.
Speaking from her own experience, Saumu emphasized the importance of having a father figure in a child's life. She advised women not to be single and to look for a father figure if they break up with their baby daddy.
She praised her current lover, Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, for being an amazing father to her daughter. Saumu also disclosed that Benson Gatu was abusive, which led to their breakup.
She further advised women to walk away from violent relationships, citing her own experience as a cautionary tale. Saumu recently adopted a baby girl and has been open about her experiences as a single mom.
