On September 4, 2019, Reuben Ndolo was elected unopposed as the chairman of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) in polls held at Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium.

Ndolo, a former Commonwealth Boxing Council President, previously led the federation between 1998 and 2001. He was handed a certificate by Capacity Building Agency Consultant Brian Weke, who presided over the elections.

Other key positions were also filled, including Ahmed Yassin as vice chairman, Hillary Alila's successor Frankline Imbezi as Secretary-General, and Julius Odhiambo as Assistant Secretary-General.

Ndolo vowed to improve working relationships between boxers and promoters, stating, 'We will start working with my new team immediately. I know the pain of boxers and that’s why I must make sure boxers and promoters’ work together and ensure good working relationships.'

Alila, the outgoing chairman, attributed infighting among stakeholders to the federation's slow progress, but expressed optimism about the new team's ability to build on existing administrative structures.
