On September 2, 2019, Labour Court Judge Helen Wasilwa ruled in favour of Wilson Sossion, reinstating him as the Secretary General of the National Union of Teachers (KNUT).

The court's decision came after Sossion was suspended by the union's members on August 30, following allegations of being a strike leader.

According to the court's ruling, Sossion was entitled to return to his office and access his bank accounts.

Earlier, the union's NEC had appointed Hesbon Otieno as the acting Secretary General, but the court's decision has effectively overturned this appointment.

It is worth noting that the Labour Court's decision has been welcomed by Sossion and his supporters, who had been calling for his reinstatement.

However, the union's members who suspended Sossion have not commented on the court's decision.
