Kenyan music fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Jua Cali, one of the pioneers of the Genge sound, and it's finally here. His latest project, an album titled Mali ya Umma, is set to drop on September 12th.

With his business partner Clemo (Clement Rapudo), Jua Cali founded Calif Records, a recording studio and stable that launched the careers of several notable artists, including Nonini. Some of the notable artists who were once signed to Calif Records include Vikki Ocean, Masha, Choku, Circuite & Joel, Flexx, Lady S, Mahatma, Nonini, Pilipili, Ratatat, and Mejja.
