Lipa Later Group has named Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga 'GB' Agboola as a member of its advisory board, signaling a strategic move to enhance its African BNPL operations. The appointment follows Agboola's tenure as founder and CEO of Flutterwave, a fintech company he established in 2016 to streamline digital payments across the continent.

Agboola, a software engineer with an MBA and advanced degrees in information technology security and behavioral engineering, brings extensive experience to Lipa Later. His previous ventures include two successful exits before founding Flutterwave, which now operates in 10 African markets and has a valuation exceeding $3 billion after a $250 million Series D funding round.

"Olugbenga Agboola is one of Africa’s foremost fintech experts," said Lipa Later CEO Eric Muli. "His appointment underscores our commitment to innovation and expanding BNPL solutions across the continent." Agboola expressed enthusiasm for Lipa Later's vision, stating the company's "robust and scalable platform" positions it to capitalize on untapped market opportunities.

Lipa Later recently secured $12 million in funding to accelerate expansion beyond Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. The firm's advisory board now includes a leader who has shaped digital finance infrastructure across Africa through Flutterwave's global investor network, including B Capital Group, Tiger Global, and Salesforce Ventures.
