Published on September 1, 2019, Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka reflected on his costly penalty mistake in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Christian Eriksen's early goal gave Spurs the lead, and they doubled their advantage just before halftime after Xhaka's foul on Son Heung-Min led to a Harry Kane penalty.

However, Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back for Arsenal just before halftime, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drew the Gunners level in the 71st minute.

In a post-match message on Instagram, Xhaka expressed gratitude to the Emirates Stadium fans for their support, acknowledging his mistake and vowing not to give up.

"Thanks for the amazing support inside the Emirates. We showed a lot of character and you helped us to come back into the game. For the penalty I made a mistake – I’m of course angry about it but I will never give up!" Xhaka wrote.
