On Sunday, September 1, 2019, the Harambee Starlets, Kenya's women national team, secured a crucial 3-0 win over Malawi at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The victory marked a significant comeback for the Starlets, who had suffered a 3-2 defeat in the first leg of the fixture in Lilongwe.

Under the guidance of coach David Ouma, the team was determined to overturn the deficit and secure qualification to the next round.

With Mwanalima Adam tasked with leading the attack, the Starlets showed attacking intent from the start, opening the lead in the 19th minute through Cynthia Shilwatso's low left-footed drive.

The second half saw Malawi finally settle in, but their efforts were dampened after Mwanalima doubled the lead in the 77th minute.

She sealed the win in the dying minutes of the match, putting the game beyond Malawi's reach.

With this 3-0 victory, the Harambee Starlets completed a 5-3 aggregate win, securing their spot in the third round of the Olympic Qualifiers.
