On September 2, 2019, a two-hour strike by ground staff at Dutch national carrier KLM will force the cancellation of 10 European flights.
The strike, which will take place between 8:00 am and 10:00 am (6:00 am to 8:00 am GMT), comes after the airline and Dutch union federation FNV failed to reach an agreement on wages.
"KLM have preventively decided to annul 10 European flights because of the strike," said Manel Vrijenhoek, a KLM spokeswoman.
Other airlines, including Air France, Delta, and Transavia, are also expected to be affected by the strike.
The FNV union is demanding a four percent increase in wages for its 15,000 ground staff members, while KLM has offered a two percent increase.
"It's no good. Therefore we are calling a work stoppage," said Joost van Doesburg, FNV campaign leader.
