On August 31, 2019, detectives from Kasarani arrested three individuals in Kahawa West on suspicion of being part of a notorious car theft syndicate.
The suspects, identified as Francis Kinyanjui, Gladys Wanjiku, and Stephen Njoroge, are believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorizing residents of Kasarani and Roysambu.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the three were arrested on allegations of stealing motor vehicles from the public after stupefying them in pubs.
Area OCPD Peter Kimani stated that one of the suspects, Stephen Njoroge, has been under their radar for a long time and is believed to be the gang leader.
During the arrest, detectives seized a Toyota Probox, phones, several SIM cards, and assorted psychotropic drugs.
The three suspects are currently being held at Kasarani Police Station and are expected to be arraigned on Monday.
