On Friday, DCI detectives unveiled fresh evidence in the probe into the disappearance of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, placing his wife, Sarah Kamotho, at the center of the puzzle.
According to the new evidence, Tob Cohen's mobile device did not leave the Westlands area on the day of his disappearance, contradicting Sarah Kamotho's earlier claim that he had left the country.
Police Inspector Maxwell Otieno, leading the investigation, stated that preliminary reports suggest a possible kidnapping, saying, 'It's highly probable that Cohen was kidnapped from his residence and taken by the respondent to an unknown place where the kidnap may have turned to death.'
Further investigation revealed that Sarah Kamotho had coached witnesses to bear false witness on the movement of the missing Cohen, according to Inspector Otieno.
The couple was involved in a messy divorce, with a multi-million property at the center of their dispute, shortly before Cohen's disappearance.
Tob Cohen went missing between July 19 and 20 this year, and 20 days later, his wife posted a video on YouTube painting him as a serial chain smoker and substance user, which made him violent and aggressive throughout their union.
The video will be part of the evidence to unveil the tycoon's whereabouts, detectives said.
