Kenyan footballer Paul Were has rejoined AFC Leopards on a one-year deal, marking his return to the team he knows well.

Were's previous stint with Ingwe expired just before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where he had hoped to secure a ticket to Egypt and impress in the continental tournament to attract new suitors.

Although he did not feature in any of the three matches Kenya played in Egypt, Were is now eager to contribute to the team's success in the upcoming season.

"It is a good move for me since AFC Leopards is always home to me. I know what the team wants to achieve and for me therefore it is just a continuation of the hard work I put in as an individual last season," Were told Nation Sport.

Were broke into the limelight in 2010 after joining Tusker on loan from FISA Academy, and he is now looking to make a positive impact at his new home.
