The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has launched its course selection portal for 2021 KCSE candidates, with placements scheduled for June 2022. The system includes automated processes to ensure fairness and will accommodate applications for Teachers Training Colleges (TTC) for the first time.

KUCCPS CEO Mercy Wahome confirmed the portal's activation following stakeholder training sessions. She emphasized the system's fairness, stating, "KUCCPS will add value to TTC admission by utilising its automated placement system to guarantee fair competition among applicants." Affirmative action measures will also support applicants with disabilities and those from marginalized regions.

The portal offers over 546 degree programs, 218 college courses, and 114 certificate courses. Students must pay Ksh500 to create an account, using their KCSE index numbers or birth certificate numbers as initial passwords. Candidates can revise course choices in May after results are released.

KUCCPS Board Chairman Joe Ager presented appointment letters to the Acting CEO in November 2020.

Kenya's higher education institutions include Kenyatta University, Moi University, and Nairobi University.
