On August 31, 2019, two individuals, Peter Gitau Muiruri and Peter Njoroge Kanika, were charged with attempting to defraud MS Gidjoy Investments Limited by selling its land valued at nearly Sh1 billion.
According to the charge sheet, the two allegedly forged signatures of land officials and a lawyer to make documents appear genuine. The documents included a title deed, letter of allotment, and lease for a parcel of land in Nairobi valued at Sh944 million.
The two pleaded not guilty and were granted Sh2 million bond or Sh1 million cash bail.
MS Gidjoy Investments Limited is an investment company that was allegedly targeted by the duo in a bid to defraud it of its land valued at nearly Sh1 billion.
Donholm, a suburb in Nairobi, is where the land in question is located.
