On August 30, 2019, UEFA announced Eden Hazard as the best player for the 2018/19 Europa League season.
Eden Hazard, who played for Chelsea at the time, scored twice in the Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku, helping Chelsea secure a win.
After winning the Europa League title with Chelsea, Hazard announced that he would be leaving the club to join Real Madrid.
Real Madrid, who have been drawn in Group A of the Champions League, will not participate in the Europa League this season.
Eden Hazard's move to Real Madrid was completed in a five-year deal worth around £130 million, with the initial negotiation pegged at £88.5 million.
