Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has challenged the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji to take action against those circulating a fake letter that implicated him in the drug trade.

On August 28, 2019, Kabogo had already called out those spreading the letter, describing it as 'fake news.'

However, the DPP responded on Friday, stating that the office had not received any letter from Interpol containing a list of wanted Kenyans for their alleged involvement in the Akashas' drug case.

"The DPP Noordin Haji has not received the following letter circulating on social media purported to have been written by Interpol containing a list of wanted Kenyans for adversely being mentioned in the Akashas' drug case," the DPP posted on Twitter.

Despite the DPP's denial, Kabogo has urged him to go further and arrest those involved in distributing the letter.

"Dismissing is not enough. It's criminal to distribute such material. CALL FOR THE ARREST OF THOSE INVOLVED. that's what happens in countries that are guided by the rule of law. And if not let us know so we/and or I can defend myself as in the rule of the jungle," Kabogo replied to the DPP.
