Actor Inspekta Mwala Apologizes for Killing Pedestrian in Kilifi

On August 27, 2019, actor Davies Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, hit and killed a 35-year-old man while driving in Kaloleni, Kilifi county.

According to police, Mwabili was driving from Kaloleni town on Mazeras Highway when the accident occurred. He was alone in the car and tried to overtake an oncoming vehicle, veering off the road and hitting the pedestrian.

On August 30, 2019, Mwabili was released on a KSh 40,000 police bond and is set to be charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

In a Twitter post, Mwabili apologized for the incident, saying he never intended to kill the man and that he would have joined the al Shabaab militia if he were a killer. He also suggested that people should focus on more pressing issues, such as hunger, rather than the accident.

However, the apology was met with skepticism, with many questioning the sincerity of Mwabili's apology.

Police said Mwabili's car was detained at Kaloleni Police Station, and he is set to appear in court on Friday, August 30, 2019, to answer the charge.
