Published on August 30, 2019, a recall petition against Molo MP Kimani Kuria has gained momentum, with the legislator pleading with his constituents to drop the initiative.
Kimani Kuria has come out to apologize for his past mistakes, stating that he will not repeat them and promising to improve service delivery in Molo.
"I am sorry for what happened and I want to tell my people that it will never happen again. I plead with those behind this scheme to stop it because it will derail service delivery of the people of Molo," the MP said.
However, Kuria has expressed doubts about the authenticity of the signatures collected by the petitioners, claiming that they were falsified.
Some residents have backed Kuria, stating that they had forgiven him and would only support the petition if he fails to deliver on his mandate.
