On August 29, 2019, the UEFA awards ceremony took place in Monaco, France, where Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was crowned the best goalkeeper of the year.

Alisson's impressive performance helped Liverpool win their sixth Champions League title last season, and he kept six clean sheets in 13 appearances.

He beat Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen and Tottenham's Hugo Lloris to the prestigious award, which is a testament to his exceptional skills as a goalkeeper.

Alisson joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2018 for a then-world record fee for keepers, valued at around €63 million.

He won the Premier League Golden Glove award after his first season at Anfield, but unfortunately, his team did not win the EPL title.

Other notable goalkeepers who made the top 10 list include Ederson (Manchester City), Samir Handanovic (Inter Milan), Wojciech Szczęsny (Juventus), and David de Gea (Manchester United).
