On August 29, 2019, StarTimes ON, the online video streaming service of pay television broadcaster StarTimes, made a significant move by introducing premium content for its Kenyan subscribers.
The new development promises to enrich the experience of football and telenovela enthusiasts, allowing them to access premium content on the go.
Among the premium content available on the StarTimes ON app include the new telenovela 'The Blood Sisters', the upcoming UEFA Europa League, and the German top-tier soccer league, the Bundesliga.
Subscribers can also access Live TV, Video on Demand, and short videos covering various content genres, including reality TV, news, sports, movies, series, music, entertainment, documentaries, kids' content, and more.
StarTimes ON is compatible with both Android and iOS systems, and users can download the app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The app features Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD), and Ultra High Definition (UHD) content, providing access to live, replays, and key highlights of the premium content at subscribers' convenience.
While sports content is accessed at a cost of Ksh 30 per day, Ksh 120 weekly, and Ksh 240 monthly, the rest of the content, including over 70 local and international channels, is available for free.
StarTimes subscribers on terrestrial and satellite platforms can enjoy a 5% discount when paying their monthly subscription through the app, as well as the flexibility to change their bouquets and review their payment history for the pay television service once they link their decoder to the app.
Some of the premium international channels available on StarTimes ON include Fox News, BBC World News, France 24, Bloomberg, AMC Movies, Fox Life, Passions TV, Baby TV, and National Geographic, among others.
