Manchester United's Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of completing a 10-month loan move to Inter Milan, a development that comes as no surprise given his prolonged bench warming at Old Trafford.

The Chilean striker's struggles to find playing time under Jose Mourinho and later Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were well-documented, with the latter often referring to Sanchez as 'Chileno' rather than his name, according to The Athletic.

Two sources told The Athletic that Mourinho would occasionally reveal Sanchez's £560,000 per week wage package to teammates in an attempt to motivate the player.

Sanchez's desire to leave Manchester United was so strong that he was willing to accept a wage cut to facilitate his departure, with the player currently in Milan finalizing medicals.

While the loan deal does not include a buyout clause, Manchester United will retain the option to sell Sanchez at a high value or bring him back to the club if he performs well at Inter Milan.

Sanchez's departure is unlikely to have a significant impact on Manchester United's performance, given his limited contributions to the team since joining in 2018.
